About the programme
The EYWEP Programme
EYWEP is a joint initiative of ECOWAS and AUDA-NEPAD aimed at promoting the economic empowerment of young entrepreneurs and women in West Africa.
Implemented by the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre, the programme creates a conducive environment for entrepreneurship, focusing on capacity building, access to financing, technical support and the promotion of innovative and sustainable businesses across member states. A pilot phase is being carried out in six countries: Benin, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Guinea-Bissau and Gambia.
- Business management training and capacity building for young entrepreneurs.
- Access to financing and business support services for youth- and women-led SMEs.
- Mentoring, technical assistance and sharing of best entrepreneurial practices.
- Job creation and economic inclusion of women across the ECOWAS region.
