The second session of the COYWA training programme brought together young entrepreneurs from West Africa around a common goal: to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacities of young people and women in the region and to promote their innovative initiatives.
Led by the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), in collaboration with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), through its Centre for Youth and Sports Development (CDJS), this training programme receives financial support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
Alongside the training activities, participants had the opportunity to showcase their expertise through an exhibition of products from their entrepreneurial ventures. Coconut oil and coconut crisps, bracelets, honey, clothing and fashion items were among the products on display, illustrating the diversity and creativity of the regionโs young entrepreneurs.
Beyond the presentation of the products, this exhibition demonstrates the young peopleโs determination to turn their ideas into tangible economic opportunities, to make the most of local resources and to develop income-generating activities. It also highlights the potential of entrepreneurship as a driver of economic empowerment, job creation and sustainable development in West Africa.
ร Through COYWA, AUDA-NEPAD and ECOWAS, with the support of AECID, are thus reaffirming their commitment to supporting young people and women in developing their skills, consolidating their initiatives and contributing to the regionโs economic and social development.
